About zeitgeistphiladelphia

Welcome to the Philadelphia, (Pennsylvania Sub-) Chapter of the Zeitgeist Movement! Simply put, we understand that Business-As-Usual is not only unsustainable ecologically, but also economically inefficient & culturally coercive as well. A species level value shift is needed to confront & define the many pitfalls & possibilities we face as a global family. This value shift must be one which truly respects the individual & the environment. This can be arrived at through the application of the scientific method to social concerns.

JOKER//APOCALYPSE (The Great Work: A teaching of Natural Law and Sustainability)

“All you care about is money.” – Joker

“No more systems! No more superpowers.” – Apocalypse

Let us begin this lesson with an acknowledgement of what the definition of violence is: violence is the initiation of force or coercion, which causes harm; such as assault, theft, rape, or murder.

Recently, Hollywood films have taken to give the “bad guys” the most true to life lines as a way of making it seem like only an insane or evil person would dare to speak such ideas. However, the most intelligent dialog has come from said characters.

Our current society seems to be dominated by the twin pillar, false god’s of authority and money. Authority is the false assumption that one can override the natural law of “do no harm” and initiate violence. While money is both the coercive carrot and the violent stick, propelling us forward, with the need for gain or the fear of loss.

When combined these two pillars of authority and money become taxation, which is a coercive theft of money by an assumed authority. It can also be combined to create what’s known as welfare to give away money from an authority. Generally taxation pays for welfare. Essentially creating a “robbing of Peter to pay Paul”. This scenario is profoundly immoral. However the scenario of poverty within the monetary market economic system is equally immoral yet is sanctioned by our society through its continuance of the monetary market economy.

Therefore I suggest the obsoletion of both authority and monetary systems, which steer our society. The big question becomes:

“How do we do this?”

Transitionally the government could STOP spending money on the military and support the efforts of sustainable education as well as sustainability creation. This would undoubtedly be an answer only for those who still believe that their vote counts and that they can work within the system to change it. Especially considering the government receives loans from the Federal Reserve to pay for virtually everything. The Federal Reserve creates money out of thin air by adding digits into a computer. Most people don’t see how this system enables the false god’s of authority and money in a feedback loop; authority creates money and then money pays for authority(state violence).

“Don’t talk like one of them, you’re not!” – Joker

“No more false Gods.” – Apocalypse

These false god systems define how our society functions. With these loans, Federal Reserve Notes are created out of nothingness. They fund everything from military spending to welfare. Harm and helping. However, the powers that shouldn’t be, refuse to look at our technical capacity to grow beyond these systems. They send young people to die for the theft of foreign resources, while steering our society down a path of environmental oblivion. Meanwhile, we have obvious answers to both imperial violence and resource depletion, in the form of industrial hemp and vertical farms. Five vertical farms the size of Philadelphia’s Comcast building could feed the 250,000 TANF(welfare) recipients in Pennsylvania. Giving away the food for free from these structures, rather than using tax money to pay back the government loans, which pay for welfare, would, overtime, pay for the automation and aero-/hydro-/aqua-ponics and building materials going into vertical farm creation.

Further, hemp creation in vertical farms could provide building materials(hempcrete), clothing, and oil. That oil can be turned into plastics. Those plastics can be feed into 3-D printers, which can create virtually any object required by humanity. From hangers to dishes and from toys to tools. A database could be established to hold the designs of almost any item & then the 3-D printers could manufacture these items from the renewable hemp created by these vertical farms. This has the potential to cripple the “Made in China” label. One day, in the near future, we could even see a retro design modification which would say “Made in China” as a joke, because everything would now be created at local Civil Access Centers, for free. The Vertical Farm Civil Access Centers could be created with water collection on the roofs, solar panels and wind turbines for power as well, to save even more valuable resources and stay within an off-the-grid, fully sustainable paradigm. These structures could provide everything, any human being on the planet could ever require, forever. It would cost a great deal less to create these structures, then to maintain the current American Military Industrial Complex and welfare systems. This would end extreme and relative poverty globally, for less than the military budget of the United States.

“See, I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve.” – Joker

“All has been revealed.” – Apocalypse

In conclusion, it is freely offered that nothing here, is a new idea. The 2008 Peter Joseph documentary, Zeitgeist:Addendum, described all of this in greater detail than written here. We as a species have the opportunity to change everything, at any time. The choice is ours. As the great apocalyptic joker, Bill Hicks, once said;

“The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it’s real because that’s how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it’s very brightly colored, and it’s very loud, and it’s fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, “Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, “Hey, don’t worry; don’t be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.” And we … kill those people. “Shut him up! I’ve got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real.” It’s just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn’t matter, because it’s just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It’s only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.”

#Extreme #Cosplay

When my son was just beginning to speak, he saw me dressing up for an interview, & called it my “Mister Costume”. Since then my wife & I have joked many times about how everything is just cosplay. We put on our little costumes & play out our parts on the world stage. Some of us taking our rolls way more seriously then others. Sometimes people get so deeply entrenched into their beliefs of ego identification, that they no longer, mentally, take off, their costume.

You are not your F*cking Khakis” – Tyler Durden, Fight Club.

Since before Joseph’s dream of having his brothers bow to him in a coat of many colors, people have believed in their own superiority to others, due to their clothing. Since then, leaders of rituals and nations alike have dressed in fine attire, to make them feel better about themselves & lord it over others. Kings & Queens have it all; fancy jewelry, fine lining for capes, golden crowns, to name just a few accoutrements. In ancient China, robes embroidered with dragon patterns were exclusively used by emperors. Only the Pope is permitted to wear the three layered crown, or triple tiara. In Rome, “a senator could wear a tunic featuring a vertical broad purple stripe down the center. An equestrian could wear a tunic featuring two vertical narrow purple stripes on either side of the tunic.”  During the Renaissance, Sumptuary Laws restricting colors and cloths by class, allowing for fines against both women & men. Other restrictions included the attire of apprentices, no; hats, ruffles, cuffs, or loose collars. Cross-dressing faux pas like donning Klingon cranial ridges along with Mandalorian battle armor may raise an eyebrow or two at today’s comic-cons, where as; just wearing silks in the underclasses, could net one a hefty fine of 100 British Pounds. While theses days dozens of scantly clad slave-outfit Princess Leia’s will show some skin for the nerdy fun of it all, Lady Godiva made her claim to fame with her brandishing of an equestrian anti-taxation trot through town wearing only her birthday suit. Now, that, is nobility!

All authority, flows from the barrel of a gun.” – Mao

Mao cosplayed in the Zhongshan or Mao suit, which soon became a symbol and costume of proletarian unity in communist China. The word authority is often swapped with the word power, but their meanings differ. While power is usually defined as “the ability to influence somebody to do something that he/she would not have done” such as by coercion or violence. Where as authority is a claim of legitimacy, claim of justification and/or claim of moral right to exercise that power.

English judicial barristers have a monopoly on the right to speak in court, but have given the monopoly of wig wearing to judges, during the last decade . These British lawyers no longer wished to claim their rights to said smelly horsehair accessories, but want to continue their verbal jurisdiction. Apparently they no longer appreciate playing dress up, but don’t want to give up the authority which comes with it. However, such authoritarian wardrobe malfunctions seem to not alter their verbal control in the courtroom. Don’t they need the wig, on their head, for the legal mumbo-jumbo to work? What would a proper SteamPunk enthusiast think of this horrendous lack of conviction?

My father was the kind of man who never, mentally, took off his costume. Being a prison guard for the state made him institutionalized in the head, so acting as jailer, was a badge he wore both at work & at home. My uncle is a retired police officer. They are another institution of employees, who also wear costumes, this time called; “uniforms”, but in all reality, they are just a costume & some accessories. Most in our culture seem to believe in this kind of cosplay so much so, that people who participate in such rolls, are actually able to get away with murder, while wearing these blue costumes with numbered accessories. Daniel Pantaleo took his extreme cosplay roll so seriously that he choked Eric Garner to death over pennies of taxes, supposedly not paid on “loosey” cigarettes. Officer Darren Wilson was so into his roll-playing & accessory play, that he shot Mike Brown to death in a Wal-Mart. 2 days later Officers Sharlton Wampler and Antonio Villegas of the LAPD took out Ezell Ford. Officer Sean Williams & Sgt. David Darkow were the boys in blue, involved in John Crawford’s untimely demise. 4 men have died by the actions of these costumed “authorities” through the violence for which said authority stands. For some strange reason(usually fear of pain & death), many tolerate this kind of carnage, in our everyday society, from these kinds of #Extreme #Cosplayers. Typically because the rest of societies general attitudes conform to the dark will of these costumed order-followers coercion, most of us tend to just let the violence continue, all too comfortable, in our divisional privilege.

Marines & other military services take their costumes especially seriously, polishing not just boots but also medals of honors, won through experience points gained by the murder of others, in foreign countries. This kind of malice would never be tolerated by your typical Live Action Roll Players(LARPers), unless it was in game, only. However, when people are told that if they put on some other costume & given a real weapon & told to go kill people, by some other guy in a slightly different costume; all of the sudden, it’s “morally just” for reasons of national pride to end the lives of others, who are just defending their territories, from imperialism.

So what have we learned today? That if you wear the right costume with the right accessories & have the support of a complacent society you can make a wrong, into a right, or justify violence?

It would seem the easiest rout to success is to dress for it. Don’t use the politically correct term, “ensembly challenged”, call it like it is. If you are accosted by costumed criminals, be they super villains or authoritarians on a power trip; then you may as well just admit it, all of life is cosplay.

As long as we as a species, believe in this most dangerous superstition; authority, we will continue to remain; Fashion Victims, from the disciples of #Extreme #Cosplay!

Defining “They”

Mia: Is that a fact?
Vincent: No, it’s not. It’s just what I heard.
Mia: Who told you this?
Vincent: They.
Mia: They talk a lot, don’t they?
Vincent: They certainly do.
Mia: Well, don’t be shy, Vincent… what did “They” say?
Pulp fiction (1994)

We've got one who can see!

There is a great song out there, by an artist called Jem. The song is called They. In the songs lyrics, she opens with a question, “Who made up all the rules?” & further points out, “We follow them like fools….. Cause what we tend to do, is act off what “They” say and then it is that way”. She then apologizes, a lot, & asks “Who are they?”, “Where are they”, & “Why do we live like this, is it because it’s true, that ignorance is bliss?”. These are just a few of the things I’ll be delving into & trying to answer by the end of this blog post.

Could “they” be who Vincent & Mia were speaking about in Pulp Fiction? Maybe. Some of them.

However, when I think of the great “They” it’s easiest for me, to connect this word, “They” with what some refer to as “the powers that be” or also, & more poignantly, “the powers that shouldn’t be”. This is largely the aspect of “They” which I plan to discuss, however, I’ll also be pointing out a few other “They“‘s as well. Such as “They“, being simply, society at large. However, as a caveat, ALL, of the many “They“‘s, I intend to discuss here, are actually all a part of this other word; “We”; or, our human species, but at times may extend that to any &/or all other earthlings.

So let’s get into this ” powers that shouldn’t be ” version of “They“. Some, paint with very broad brush strokes, and these “They” are everything from governments to globalists. I myself use to often bring up who Peter Joseph once called, “the plutonomy” in his excellent “Social Pathology” lecture, from 28 minutes – 32 minutes, as this was quantified via a Citigroup memo, on the super rich. This memo essentially described how “They” have so much money, that “They” can steer the global marketplace any way they choose, defining further the Invisible Hand, as it gives you the finger! However, this “They” was just one ship, if you’ll forgive me as I mix metaphors here and remind the reader of a line from Godfather 3; “All our ships must sail in the same direction.” and Admiralty law (“man’s law”) still governs “many commercial activities”. Many of these laws are in contradiction of Natural Laws. This said, where’s the rest of the fleet of vessels? On the current seas, or is that currencies, either way it’s flowing through the banks, right? Did you see what I did there? 😉

People of the same trade seldom meet together even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public or some contrivance to raise prices.” – Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations.

Well, when I’ve tried to describe the eye of the pyramid, I often like to show this article from Forbes;  Yeah, you read that title right, & as we continue this look into a solid definition of “They“, I’m going to assume that if you’ve read this far, then you just came back from reading that Forbes article, in full, & if you are a political Libertarian, you’re here to finish reading before you point out that other article at the bottom; My favorite parts; “This is no secret cabal; this is the capital markets at work, allowing everyone a way to save for college, a new home and retirement.” ….  “There’s no conspiracy here, just the financial markets doing what they do, allocating capital on behalf of investors large and small. ” – Eric Savitz ends with. How comforting, eh? It’s not a conspiracy. It’s just the way things are. Business-As-Usual. Grandma’s pension money gets reinvested into the system & her dividends are enough to cover buying extra presents for the kids this year? Maybe some extra chocolate Santa’s too? Way to go Granny, not only are you spoiling these already overly privileged children, but you are stimulating the economy. Ok, enough snark & sarcasm, let’s get back to business; what kind of masonry does it take to build better BRICS for the Pyramid?

Sorry for the echo, but  “This is no secret cabal; this is the capital markets at work” – Eric Savitz. Well, this has truth to it, but as Brendan Coffey then points out in “What does all this mean? Researchers at a desk in midtown Manhattan are the butterflies that cause the hurricanes in the markets. For instance, 37% of all index funds in stocks are in a S&P 500 index fund.” So there you have it. The wind in the sails of the “ships that must sail in the same direction.” The Invisible Hand of the markets. “Together, these four firms(“McGraw-Hill, CME Group, and Barclay’s, which took over Lehman Brothers and its Lehman Aggregate Bond Index, the dominant world bond fund index.”) dominate the world of indexing. And in turn, that means they(“They“) hold real sway over the world’s money.”

The above “They” in conjunction with the World Bank/Federal Reserve and the governments which use violence to prop them all up, are often called “the New World Order” or Globalists. On November 30, 2014 RT published Juice Rap News: The New World Order on Youtube, discussing in parody, rhyme, and reason this particular “They” quite well where he echos in spirit what was said in Eric Savitz 147 companies retort; “So, here’s the issue. We have met the enemy, ….. and he is us.”  Now, what Savitz called “markets doing what they do”, “Robert Foster” reports that the Illuminati of the average conspiracy theorist is but a “projection” to blame, for turning the average person into victims of their own making. Suggesting that people like “Terrence Moonseed” are using the “eye” at the top of the pyramid as an “alibi” for letting Business-As-Usual continue. Capitalism run amok, expanding to imperialism by way of global Mussolini brand fascism(marriage of government and corporations). “William(Bill) De Berg” then points out the truths of a pyramid structure built of our own edifice, bringing the point home, by saying; “The New World Order is you!”

How many of those trinkets Grandma bought were made by “Santa’s elves” but are stamped with “Made in China” ? Those extra Chocolate Santa candies, does Grandma know “the story” of how that chocolate was produced? Less then poverty wages, maybe even child slavery? But we have to placate Grandma & let her spoil her only grand-babies. You would have to be a villain in Robin Hood to say “…and call off Christmas!” or worse, the Grinch who stole Christmas. Yet even, Family Guy had an episode about Christmas, which suggested only one present per person, because our society has become so overly consumeristic.

So who are “They“? Globalist Banksters pulling the marionette strings of politicians or Grandma shopping at Wal-Mart? As far as Juice Rap News is concerned, the answer suggests that both, are strange, but true, conspiracies. No, I’m not saying that all grandmothers are in the Eastern Star Lodge. That would be silly. I am suggesting, that because many don’t always know where the products they purchase come from, nor do they care, if the price is right, one may be condoning or partaking in practices which cause the suffering of others. Further, that ignorance may be killing us all. Not every business out there shows off it’s sustainability practices. Many businesses don’t even have them. How many businesses out there are the cause of pollution in our world, yet we still support them in ignorance of how their practices may contribute to the long term lowering of the Earth’s carrying capacity?

It’s true, “They” sold us a lie, but we bought it. “They call it the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.” – George Carlin. The late comedian Bill Hick’s was once interviewed on “Capsize”, where he spoke about the movie They Live, to a caller. Bill spoke about how he loved the allegory of the film and asked about humanities connection with nature; “How much illusion can the world take, until nature just snaps in half?”  Between Climate Change & fish stock depletion, maybe less time then one might think? Further more, if we continue to go along to get along, & just let Business-As-Usual keep doing what it’s doing, we will be unwitting contestants in an oil & coal burning suicidal race. Participants in the Globalist agenda, leading to a tragedy of the commons. A servitude and death march, of our own making because we’ve become too dependent on modern comforts. This is how we, are “They“. This is why we must end the divisional 99% vs. 1% mentality. We are the 100%, & not only is ignorance not bliss, but it’s a direct rout into slavery & ecocide.

Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible because you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now
I’m tired of bein’ the victim of shame
They“‘re throwing me in a class with a bad name
I can’t believe this is the land from which I came
You know I really do hate to say it
The government don’t wanna see

All Michael Jackson wanted to say is that “They Don’t Care About Us” but he also said;

If you want to make the world a better place, just look at yourself, & make a change.” Now whatever you think of this man is irrelevant, what matters here, is that these words are true.

So what do we do, when “They” are us? Boycotting doesn’t mean anything to the plutonomy. Sure some mega-corporations will hurt a little, but if they are too big to fail, the they will be bailed out. The UN’s version of “Sustainable Development” Goals for the #Post2015 agenda(what use to be Agenda 21) are more a cloak-realism of continuance of Business-As-Usual, with the World Bank screening new loans through Climate Change risk filters. That’s not sustainability, & neither is a carbon tax, which does not end pollution, but rather just taxes it.  Derrick Jensen has likened our reliance on civilizations destructive dominator cultures as being akin to his own mother’s reliance on her abusive husband. Much of the problem is that there is a built in feedback in which the rich get the poor to act against their own interests. Few even want end the current control structures which would end the exploitation. Because the poor would rather try to become rich, & in so doing, become the exploiters themselves.

However, that’s not to say rejecting this matrix in mass wouldn’t hurt the system. Humanities wholesale rejection of ideas like “authority” & “money” would for sure rock the boat, which is sometimes necessary, even if you are in it.

Well, it would seem that someone has already been thinking about this for awhile now. His name was Richard Buckminster”Bucky” Fuller. He came up with the World Game and until we are all playing it, to win it, 100%, then our civilization & our species will continue to it’s decent as many cultures in decline. The object of the World Game is simple; “To make the world work for 100 percent of humanity, In the shortest possible time, Through spontaneous cooperation, Without ecological offense, Or the disadvantage of anyone.”  The game is played on a 35 foot by 70 foot Dymaxion Map, which offered an equivalent of a view of Earth from 1500 miles up.

Mark Passio of did an incredible 25 part series on the Non-Support Of Dominator Cultures, from episodes #102-#127. Where in just the first 5 episodes of this series, he covers topics like:
